M is a fellow Beachbody coach with me, and I adore her. She is fun and light-hearted and her family was a blast to work with. 

We had perfect fall weather for their session in September. And did I mention the light? Oh, yeah it was perfect! 

This barn is 100 years old and we had to incorporate it somehow with this farm being in M's family for so long. 

And sometimes, you have to be a mom during photo shoots. (This is my favorite)

~M~ is ONE!! {Southern Minnesota Children's Photographer}

I got to watch this little man grow up in the last year. Every three months I would be able to capture the newest little thing he learned. Every time it took him a few minutes to warm up to me, but he always relaxed eventually. 

His on year shoot was no different. I loved watching him check everything out at the park. Feeling the grass in his toes, checking out the sticks, always investigating. 

It is amazing for me to take part in these children's lives. Watching them learn things for the first time, make their funny noises all the while capturing every moment for their parents. They do grow too fast. 

He was amazed with his toes!

~M~ is 9 months! {Southern Minnesota Children's Photographer}

Oh this little man. I have so enjoyed watching him grow in front of my lens. He is turning into such a little charmer! I was so happy we were able to take his 9 month photos outside! Yeah for spring! I am ready for more sessions outside!

 I was so pleased that we decided to take this family's photos at their farm. It is such an amazing location and I could have kept shooting all night! We had so much fun hiking by the creek and through the pastures. Loving these images!!

I have a thing for old barns for sure!

Their hunting dog would not get in a shot with the family, but I had to get at least one of him, he was so sweet!

They each have their own team, game days probably get pretty rowdy in their house!!

~M~ Family Newborn Session {Southern Minnesota Family Photographer}

I don't normally shoot newborns. I have a wonderful friend in Windom, MN who is AWESOME (Red Barn Photography). However, I won't pass up an opportunity to work with new little bundles especially when they are a returning client. 

~M~ is so precious! You forget how tiny they are when your own grow so quickly. I had many ideas but we were fighting the weather. A storm was trying to come and there was a breeze. But we made it work and got some really precious shots. I don't shoot the "normal" posed newborn shots. I like to incorporate the whole family and do more of a lifestyle shoot. The family interacting with their new member.

~M~ Family Children {Southern Minnesota Children's photographer}

 Everyone was complaining a couple weeks ago about how Summer was gone, we are in for an early Fall/Winter. Well, Summer reared her ugly head this week and proved us all wrong. We have been in the 90s with HIGH humidity. Yuck. However, when I'm shooting, I forget just for a few moments of how hot it really is (until I look at my camera and see remnants of sweat, ew.)

As my last session before my maternity leave, I shot these beautiful children. They were such troopers in the heat. The little ones sure made me work hard, but I think we got some wonderful shots that showed these unique personalities!

You can tell that ~M~ is a great big sister, she was helpful and braving the heat like a champ. She even was willing to check the depth of the creek with no question!

 

 

 

~M~ is the quiet type, and I can respect that. He climbed the tree, though!! Very cool!

 

 

Oh ~J~ so sassy! She pretty much gave me this look the whole time, lol. But who can resist those beautiful blue eyes and blonde curls?!

 

 

 

 

Little ~B~ is another sassy one, but oh so cute!! How adorable is that outfit?!

 

 

 

 

 I am so pleased I was able to capture these moments. I hope to work with this family again in the future!
