Monthly Color Challenge~ Decemeber {Nebraska Portrait Photographer}

'Tis the season! It's time for the color blog challenge. Quick recap, a group of photographers and I have been challenging ourselves each month of this year. It was a way to utilize our blogs if we had been neglecting them, or just to challenge ourselves to bust out our cameras if they hadn't been used in a little while (which was the case for me a couple of months!). This month is green and/or red or silver and/or gold.

I have two holiday themed photos. The first is of our Elf on a Shelf, Bill. My son LOVED this tradition this year. Every morning the first thing we did was search for Bill. I am excited to continue this next year!

 

I did one more mini session before Christmas and spent a little time with this little cutie! She loved the bows, and ribbon her mom brought out. I forgot how active one year olds can be! But how much fun it was!

 

So this was our last color post of the year. I hope to do something similar next year, it's great to connect to more people in the photography community and challenge myself to do different things. Monthly Color Blog Challenge~ September~ Black & White {Nebraska Photographer}

Ah, here we are again! I feel like my blog as been neglected. Please forgive me. We are getting married in a week and a half and things are CRAZY around here, but in a good way! :-D

To recap you on what this blog post is about. A group of fellow photographers and I have banded together to challenge ourselves each month. We have a color or colors we must revolve our photos around. This month is Black & White. Either something black & white or a black and white & white photo.

 

This month mine is of some cow's noses. We have been weaning calves left and right this month and it was my job one day to check the hydrant at a tank. These Mommas were hopelessly watching their calves wander on the other side of the fence but took the time to get a drink. I just love a cow's nose. They are wet and shiny and you just want to pet it...but more then likely can't.

Color Blog Monthly Challenge {Nebraska Photographer}

Here we are again! It's that time of the month. A little recap as we are now halfway through our color challenge!

A group of fellow photographers and I got together and decided to challenge ourselves. Each month we have a different color or colors that we have to photograph. The subject can be anything as long as the photo revolves around that month's color.

June is "pastel", any color, light and dreamy.


Wow. This one was hard for me. I did, however, look through some of the latest branding photos~ BAM! The light WAS dreamy that day, and I did get some light and airy shots.

The first shot is of some cowboys waiting their turn to wrestle (they are watching the action in the next shot). One of them is mine ;-) 

A little excitement ensued when a calf had to be caught after being let loose. He came running from behind me, so this is the best shot I could get. As I said, the guys were watching this when I took their photo!

In both of these photos I love the color of the green grass (though we need more rain desperately!) and the lightness of the sky. This is my life, and I love it!!

Monthly Color Blog Challenge } Nebraska Photographer

I am a bit late on my color blog this month, I apologize!! It is a holiday weekend, after all!

This month our colors were yellow and/or blue. I went home this month to Michigan, as some of you may know. My first photos is of a daffodil, which I always love to see when I go back to my parent's house.

The second is my son on the beach of Lake Superior. I love this lake and this beach. When I lived there in high school, it was my go-to place to unwind and write in my journal. As I type this, a raging wildfire is consuming much of my home county. So far it has burned over 21,000 acres and isn't completely contained. It hasn't threatened my parent's home yet, but it has taken quite a few cabins and a beloved business. It's heartbreaking to see and it will look completely different when we go home again.

Monthly Blog Challenge { Nebraska Photographer

It's another month, which means another color blog! This month is Pink and/or Purple. I recently went out with my son and took some photos of the flowers in our yard. I do believe this is an Apple Blossom (I'm not real plant savvy!). I just love the way these flowers smell and took a lot of photos of them that day.

This one has a bit of texture to bring out some more of it's color. I also used my pink watermark, hehe. Please continue the circle and visit Lynn Puzzo and see what she has come up with this month!

Monthly Color Blog Challenge

As you know by now, I am participating in a color blog challenge with some fellow photographers. It's a way to challenge ourselves throughout the year. March was green and/or yellow/gold.

 Since it has been unseasonably warm this spring, my Son and I have been outside quite a bit. He LOVES to go "fishing" in the water tanks here on the ranch. He started out by putting his hand in and then "showing" me his catch, so cute! We do have a mud puppy in our closest tank and it has been our mission to catch it, it's pretty tricky!!

I thought the green of his hat (with also a little yellow!) and the green of the water was perfect for this month! We do have a lot of green grass and some leaves budding around as well.

Blogger Monthly Challenge

Month 2! Color(s) Pink and/or Red in the month of LOVE!


I wanted to do something a tad different this month. I, of course, got my shots for this month during Valentine's Day! I made a red velvet cake~ YUM! My Son LOVES cake, no, seriously, asks for it everyday. No, I don't make them everyday! lol Watching him enjoy his piece of cake, I knew this would be my chance to get my monthly color shot!

It was REALLY good!!!

2012 Blog Post Challenge~ January

I hope you enjoy viewing my January Color Challenge blog post!

Seeing as January's color(s) is Blue and/or White I went with the blue sky here in Nebraska and for a subject I chose one of the many windmills we use in this area. We don't have any snow, and it pretty much feels like Spring most of the time!!

2012 Monthly Photo Challenge

I am participating in a Monthly photo challenge with a group of photography friends! It should be lots of fun, and I hope you follow us on this journey.

I want to challenge myself this year, to not only make my work the best it can be and better, but to look outside the box and things that to me are beautiful. This challenge, I think, will be pointing me in the right direction.

Each month we will have a color(s) to inspire us and the photos are going to revolve around those colors. January is white/blue. This may be a bit challenging as we all think of snow when we think of January...well we don't have any here in Nebraska! :-) I know I will come up with something!
