Sometimes just for fun...{Southern Minnesota Portrait Photographer}

The thing I love about photography is learning. There is always something to learn! I am a natural light photographer and seek out beautiful light. However, when I shoot weddings sometimes the light isn't ideal in churches so I decided to purchase a softbox and learn how to use my speedlight (off camera flash). I posted a model call for a fun short shoot and this lovely lady's mother contacted me. I am so glad she did! Though conditions weren't what I wanted we still made it work and I now know how to use my flash!

~S~ Family {Southern Minnesota Family Portrait Photographer}

I love living in an area where there are so many fellow photographers. That may sound funny to you, but to me it is a big support group. We talk to each other, we bounce ideas off of each other and refer clients to one another. It's best to work together for success, I say!

One of these wonderful photographers I have met here is Heidi Swanson of Heidi Swanson Photography. She and I have a similar eye and she has the personality that I love to be around!

 I am always behind the camera it would be nice to have a family portrait with my newest addition, our daughter. And Heidi was in the same situation. Why not swap? Heidi was up first!

I love it when I show up to do a session and things are automatically comfortable. This is how I felt with these two. I was able to be goofy, and show my silly side and they were willing to show me theirs. They were so sweet too! When I ask a couple to kiss and I don't have to tell them to stop, it makes my job super easy ;-) 

Again, Garvin Park is quite possibly my favorite spot to shoot. You can walk just a few feet and get a completely different backdrop. 

Both of them have amazing eyes! 

I noticed her tattoo and LOVED how it was showing for this shot!

They asked if we could do a fire. Of course I said yes! It wasn't as dark as I would have liked, but we still had a blast and got some fun shots! I always try to deliver for my clients! 

Swoon. That is all. 

I just know we are going to have a blast at the October wedding! Not only is the venue beautiful, but with as many laughs as we had at their engagement session, I just know we will have fun on their big day!

~A~ 2014 Senior {Southern Minnesota Senior Photographer}

I held a giveaway at the Prairie Women's Expo in Tracy, MN last month. It was for a free mini session and a 2014 senior won! She hadn't had photos done so it worked out perfectly!

We met up at my in law's farm (love, love this location) on one of the hottest days of the year so far. It was a tad windy, but we definitely made it work! ~A~ was a good sport and we got some really fun shots!

R & D She said YES!! {Southern Minnesota Engagement and Wedding Photographer}

It is such a great feeling when someone contacts you about photographing their wedding and when you ask them when their wedding date is they say, "When are you available?". R & D are the cutest couple EVER! I know I say that a lot, but they were so easy to work with and we hit it off right from the start. They braved the wind and cold (who would have thought that we would think 50 was cold after this Winter!) and were up for anything I put in front of them.

Mother nature has been testing our patience,  hasn't she? Like most of you I am eager to see Winter make her way out and let warmer weather and sunshine in!

Being encouraged by the warmer weather I have decided to offer mini sessions from now until May 1st. I don't normally offer these, but plan on doing this twice a year. This is a great way to get in milestone children sessions, family sessions, last minute senior sessions, couples sessions, themed sessions, etc. With these sessions comes some really GREAT bonuses that are not offered any other time of the year.

I am also offering a special on digital images. I usually only sell a minimum of 25 images for $250.00. With mini sessions I am offering them for $8.00/image ($2 savings!) with a minimum order of 5 images.
